Sails, Staunton Harold – Original Painting
From a Viewpoint — a collection born from the landscape encountered on foot, where each painting is a record of a moment, a place, and the quiet pull of nature.
This piece was painted from one of my local walks around Staunton Harold Reservoir. I'm always drawn to where land meets the water's edge; I love the way the colours shift, the reflections blur, and the stillness is punctuated by movement.
Here I've tried to capture the little dinghies, their white sails cutting through the layers of blues and greens, animated against the rolling landscape beyond, creating that sense of gentle motion: the sway of a sail, the ripple of water, the energy of a breezy afternoon on the water.
An original acrylic art work, painted with expressive, gestural brushwork in a palette of aqua, cobalt, violet, and earthy green — a piece that brings the feeling of open air and open water into your home.
