About the Artist

Gill is a local artist originally from Stockton-on-Tees.  She studied Art & Design in Middlesbrough before going on to study Textile Design in Derby. Her career later led her into education, where she spent many years teaching in Derbyshire.

Returning to her creative roots, Gill now works across a variety of mixed media including bold acrylics, watercolour, pastel, and pencil.  Driven by a love of colour and a playful, experimental approach, her latest collections explore a spontaneous abstract style.  Her inspiration is taken from the local landscapes in South Derbyshire, the Peak District, and from her childhood in the Lakes.  She is particularly drawn to where land meets water — creating vibrant, layered effects that invite the viewer to pause, look more deeply, and form their own connection with the scene.

Gill offers both original artworks and high-quality prints produced on beautifully crafted Hahnemühle paper, chosen for its exceptional finish and ability to capture richness of colour and detail.
